Booster Tailgate!

On Thursday, September 26th, the St. Joseph Athletic Boosters hosted their annual tailgate barbecue. Despite the chilly weather, many people came out and supported the Jayhawks and people enjoyed delicious hamburgers and hot dogs.
During the tailgate, the Girls Soccer team was playing against Rowland Hall. Although they played well, they lost 3-1, with Rowland Hall scoring the winning points in the last 15 minutes of the game. But they held their heads up high, supported by friends, family, and the St. Joseph community.
Later the same night, the Girls Volleyball team easily trounced their opponent, Westridge Academy. The team currently stands undefeated, and hopes are high for a state title.

Retreat Day

On Friday, September 20th, the high school went on an all-day retreat at St. James Catholic Church in North Ogden. Students and faculty spent Friday reflecting on how to promote unity, acceptance, and compassion. The day began with mass led by Father Ken Vialpando. After mass, Jayhawks went on a hike in the beautiful trails above St. James where faculty members led quiet reflection groups. The retreat wrapped up with a community service fair, which highlighted local organizations and groups in need of volunteers.

Ben Lomend College Fair

On Wednesday, September 18th, St. Joseph's juniors and seniors attended a local college fair held at Ben Lomend High School. The students were able to gain information about local colleges and universities, such as University of Utah, Weber State University, Dixie State College, Utah Valley University, and many more. There were presentations from four-year universities, community colleges, and applied technical schools. All these schools provided excellent information to the students about the possibilities of higher education.

Rainy Day

It's been a rainy week at SJCHS, with fog almost concealing the nearby mountains. The arrival of damp weather and cooler temperatures seems to have signaled the beginning of Autumn, which excites many students at St. Joe's. The school settled into a steady rhythm this week, with midterms quickly approaching.
